Who Is Roger Da Costa?

I was a successful 'offline' entrepreneur for over 12 years in the Construction Industry.  I first 'stepped up' from the Corporate World to start my own business back in 1995 and became very successul in growing my business from scratch.  I hit countless obstacles along the way and came close to having to call it a day, but the reason i conituned and came through each time was because i looked at these as 'challenges' and each challenge made me stronger.  

At the time i had a business partner and we realised we had to branch out to something new.  Unfortunately back then we still had the old 'mindset'and thought process of believing we could only  follow in things that we knew and had trained in, in otherwords Construction.  So we started a new business, a high end bathroom showroom in the South of England which again grew to great success.  

Coming forward to today, why then am i here talking about my life in a new and completely different light? Well as with many of you out there, the last 18 months or so of the Global Recession saw the 'offline' business world greatly effected.  It was clear that i had to change my way of thinking if i was to continue with the lifestyle i had accustomed to.  More importantly, the Recession gave me an even greater shake up in realising that my offline business, though profitable, made me very 'poor' in terms of my time.  I had no time; no time to spend with my family, watch my kids grow, no time to spend with them on holiday even! The last holiday we had i spent 4 days with them (2 weekdays and the weekend) and then had to fly back because the business demanded it of me!  They stayed out for 3 weeks. 

Wow, what a different side of life Network Marketing has shown me.  You can have the same profits, but you get to spend TIME with your loved ones!  So why isn't everyone here profiting from 'time'?  Is it really that simple?  No, not really, and at first i had a real reality check when i first looked it over.  But you know what, i came into this business at EXACTLY the right time.  You see Google have clamped down, which is sorting the men from the boys (and of course the ladies from the girls)! 

Is that a good thing?  Well yes it is.  You see the reason i and many others out in the world had a reality check in the first place was because of the ease in setting up a business.  The ease in getting 'roped' in too easily to one so called 'business opportunity' or another. Opportunities that fell way short of our expectations and didn't deliver.  

I am one of the fortunate few who kept on going in the belief that there was a real Business Opportunity that defied all of the rest.  There were a few 'real' online business success stories that checked out being true.  Jay Kubassek and Aaran Parkinson being two such cases.  What made them different to most, and why were they able to make it when the majority were not?


That one didn't take that long to work out.  Coming from my business back ground i already knew that what made me successful in my offline business was 'transparancy'.  Being as honest and up front about me and my business from the onset.  I learned this a long time ago when i worked for my 'Corporate' employer.  You see, people join people, NOT companies!



I worked for Kier Construction, a globaly recognised Construction Company, but based here in the UK.  I made my way up my career ladder, from a Site Engineer, through to General Foreman, Site Agent and finally Site Manager.  The company was basically a construction management company, that would sub-contract specialist contractors to carry out the various contracts, just as many others do.  My job was to manage them to make sure they came on to our contracts at the right time and met the programme target dates.


Nothing unusual or special.  But there was one particular contract we had that i will never forget.  Here in the uk there is a place in central London called 'Lincolns Inn'.  (You can take a quick look and see the historical relevance behind it on the link)  To say its' members there were very particular would be an understatement.  Our Company had worked around the Inn for Years and were almost considered having a manopoly over the work in there.  

The thing is though, the works were carried out under the direction of 'one' site manager, Ken (that was his real first name by the way) with whom i worked with on the last contract there, 'The Old Hall'. Recent to then, a new Contracts Manager had joined the firm and clearly wanted to make his mark.  In his wisdom, he decided to move Ken off the Inn and onto another Contract altogether.  At this point he had already sold the contract to this other Client on the basis that Ken would be acting Site Manager.


Ken wasn't too happy about this and made his point made known to all within the Company.  But he was moved off the Inn and to his new contract.  What happened next?


That was the LAST contract ever to be carried out at the Inn for my previous employers.  You see what the new Contracts Manager hadn't appreciated, was that Ken was a senior guy, he was 'Old School'.  The Inn was predominantly run by 'Old School' characters, who saw eye to eye with Ken.  They liked him, and as far as they were concerned, he was doing the work there, NOT the Company!  Ken left, so there was no more work!


Wow, how powerfull do you think that made Ken feel?  Guess what happened to the new Contracts Manager? Well he wasn't fired, but he sure as hell got a speaking to from the Companies Board of Directors!  And never looked Ken in the face again!


People join people, NOT companies!

So back to looking on the Internet.  After doing my due diligence, i soon realised that both Jay and Aaran were two 'VERY' successful, likeable and humble people.  On top of that, my Sponsor who i would meet shortly after, i found was also a 'VERY' humble and honest person.  And guess what, i haven't yet found one member here that isn't 'VERY' humble and honest, who isn't willing to help everyone else succeed!  Now how unique is that??


You don't find that everyday.  And coming from my background, my business knowledge and life virtues, i thought i would fit in VERY well indeed.  And guess what, i have.  But it doesn't end there.  


You see the 'pattern' continues.  My members that have joined my Team, are also 'VERY' humble and honest.  Isn't it great, to find somewhere that you fit in like a glove, where you find like minded people, with like minded ideas, like minded goals, and like minded achievements?


All i can say is that i have been blessed with being given such an opportunity, to work with and help like minded people create their good fortune and success.


And to that end i will leave my story so far!

That's the latest heading of an article released earlier yesterday by Jay Kubassek, the CEO of Carbon Copy PRO.

Now, thousands of people have been 'thrusted' to the internet in the hope of finding an alternative way of making a living. Many will be in for a reality check, few will be in for a real surprise, if they 'GET IT'.

You see if the do 'get it', they will not only be embarking in a new career but they will potentially propel their lives to somewhere they may of only dreamed about until this point. And so i end this article by reiterating Jays closing sentence...

Do You All Want Time With Your Kids, Or EVEN Your Self?

This is my FIRST POST on this Blog, so bear with me, my first one is going to be a little long, it needs to be to introduce you to me and why you should come back and check me out time to time...

Welcome to The First Day of The Best Years of Your Life! …If YOU Want That is…


Why?

Because this is where YOU can change it for the better, FOREVER!

Wow, that's a pretty strong statement to put out there. And i would have to have some 'hard as rock' evidence to back it up right?  Well my friends, i have! And it should be the only EVIDENCE you need to see and believe, if you want to better your life wealth and health.


Well lucky for me, that part is the easy bit! Yes on that aspect i will introduce you to Individuals that have PROVED this to all of us already. The hard bit is convincing that they were just like YOU once and that they are a VISION of what you could be!!

Before you think ‘what makes you an authority on this then Roger?’ you should read up on my background to see that i do have the credentials to answer your question. You see the ‘About me’ link over on the left here is VERY relevant, because without my story i would never have come to be here today, in this PRIVILLAGED position to help.  Even if only ONE of you realise that YOU have the ability to change and make the 'move to act', then i have made a difference to someones life, FOREVER!  And that will have made this new journey of mine all the more worthwhile!


I wish i could take credit for the knowledge that you are about to be exposed to, however the truth is that although i found that i already possesed all the tools needed to change, it took recent events to make me see that. (events that i describe in 'About me'). No, instead ‘My Story’ took me on the long meandering route to realise that something was wrong in my otherwise successful life, and it took recent events to make me look around for an alternative get out, only to find the answer i was looking for was staring me in the face all the while!


So what did i find? Well at first, there was mountains OF HYPE over the internet, with what turned out to be false promises of hope, false claims of income, poor offers of 'THE WONDER PRODUCT' or 'SYSTEM' that would make me wealthy and 'TIME FREE' very quick! I don't deny that there were one or two systems that seemed to be the 'real deal', i enrolled in one such system, but my inexperience in internet marketing was soon to show as i am sure many of you have found, that it would be down to an inexperienced me to...

• identify an approriate product, that had a high enough demand to feed a hungry market ...
• find suitable front and back end products for the familiar and all important 'sales funnel'...
• make sure that the products came with licensing rights to enable the products to be either sold outright or sold for a percentage profit ...
• and bla bla so on and so forth...

You see what i came to realise was that i was looking for the answer 'THE WRONG WAY AROUND!'  'Here he goes again, talking gibberish' you must be thinking??

But seriously, listen up to what i have to say, because it took me a long 12 Years to actually focus on what i had subconciously already known was festering in the back of my head, but never gave a chance to come forward and nurture until a VERY SHORT spate of time on the Internet looking for an alternative made me realise this!!

The thing is i'm ACTUALLY GLAD it took spending a couple of 'THOUSAND' pounds on what turned out to be worthless information, only to find that i was landed back at SQUARE ONE again!  'Boy oh boy, you really are 'Cuckoo' Roger...' 

PLEASE, keep reading, this makes more sense as you go on...

Now, i knew that there had to be A LEGITIMATE way of turning my life around, after all i had done it once before, 12 years ago. The feeling i had when i left my 9-5 JOB was that i had to find a 'Better Way' of improving my life for me and my family. 

Well the 4 short months of being introduced to the world of the internet and being exposed to a Whole New  aspect on life is what it took to work out the answer i was looking for, was infact staring me in the face all that time …

Literally, every morning, staring at me in the mirror, during the day in the car looking into my rear view mirror, and every night again, in the bathroom before i would go to bed. Why did i change my life 12 years ago? Because I KNEW that there was something better in life, than to work for someone else, earning them the money i was looking to earn in order to change my life for me AND MY FAMILY FOR BETTER, FOR EVER!

After spending that short time on the Internet and spending 'that' amount of money, it introduced me to a business model WITH A COMPLETE DIFFERENCE!...

What was that difference?  Well at first i just thought that they spoke a good shop and that it was their amazing sales pitch that drew me in ... BUT as it turned out, their sales pitch truly was their philosophy behind their success!

Wow, i actually found a business model that founded their success on...

• Integrity
• Being straight with what they say
• Being powerfull with what they say and do, so as to EMPOWER others

And the list continues...

But one particular point of all the above stood out, the one point i knew i had in me all along...

'SELF BELIEF' ... If you have this, then EVERYTHING you want is within your grasp.  If you change your 'MINDSET' to believe that you can change, that you can achieve, then YOU WILL!

This isn't something that you realise you have, you get and then forget.  It is something that when you achieve you have to CONTINUE to NURTURE and constantly develop.  Why, well that's too much to go into right now, but something that i will be covering over the coming posts.  But the point here is that in pretty much a split moment in my life, i realised that I WAS in control of my destiny and THAT I had what it takes within me ... that was the feeling i had inside all this time, but didn't know how to put into action...

The main thing to take from this post is this.  Clearly to make a difference in your lifestyle you need to be in a community that will allow you to achieve this, that has decent products, services, and income from these. 

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR OF ALL...

You need to be in a communtiy that cares about you and your success, that EMPOWERS you with the information required for you to achieve this and show others how to as well whilst you develope on your own MINDSET!

Now at the beginning i said that you would be introduced to INDIVIDUALS that prove all this to be true.  There are many individuals that play such an important part in this EDUCATION, but over the next few posts, i am going to be relating my experience against a book entitled '12 PILLARS', by Jim Rohn and Chris Widener. 

Jim Rohn has been sharing his success philosophies and principles for over 40 years, with more than 6,000 audiences and over 4 million people worldwide.  Chris Widener has been speaking professionally since 1988 and has shared the stage with top political figures and the like.  He has produced over 30 audio programs on leadership and motivation and is a featured contributing editor to the Jim Rohn One Year Success plan.  If you are interested in reading the book yourself, then this and other similar reads are available from Amazon, on the link to the side here.

More interestingly, i will be producing 12 short videos relating my experience to the 12 Pillars book, to hopefully show you how this really relates to anyones life and EVERYONE can change,
